Start from the Tramontano Castle

Piazza Vittorio Veneto

Church of Sant’Agostino and the descent toward the Sasso Barisano

Get back on the bus and cross the city center to begin the descent toward the Sasso Barisano neighbourhood. Observe from above the urban layout of the Sassi and the gradual transition from “upper” Matera to the rock-carved city, understanding the functional connection between the two parts of the city.
