After leaving Matera, in 25 minutes by car you reach the visitor center of the Parco di Monaci. Crossing the Mediterranean shrub you will encounter caves, slopes, a medieval church, paths between the rocks…and enjoy all the best of our territory in an easy but spectacular hike of the duration of 3 Hours.

In detail:

After leaving Matera, in 25 minutes by car you reach the place where the the path is inserted, on the border between the Murgia and the clay hills surrounding the village.

Crossing the Mediterranean shrub, you will walk on stairs carved into the rock to reach the beautiful rupestrian church called Cristo La Selva, with its very complex structure accompanied by a spectacular view.

Walking on two levels of ancient caves, in the peace of nature, you also reach a viewpoint on the other side of the territory. This is a a three-hour walk, its pace will be adapted to the needs of the participants. There will be some stops to just relax, listen to the history of the place and refresh oneself. This is all included.
