Description

Trekking in Gravina, Castellaneta

Visit one of the deepest canyons of Puglia: the Gravina Grande of Castellaneta in the heart of the land of the ravines, regional natural park established in 2005. The ravines are deep karst gorges, characterized by the typical Mediterranean scrub. The perfect natural habitat of many plant and animal species, where you can witness the flight of some specimens such as the cricket falcon and the black stork. A sensational nature trail where you can appreciate the scents and sounds of nature in an atmosphere far from the daily chaos. A territory lived and modified by man for more than 3000 years of history, during which the rock has guaranteed shelter, vegetation and fauna have ensured food. Karst caves and rupestrian settlements. Ancient work environments and places of worship. You can admire all this by visiting the “Terra delle Gravine”.
